We've actually had some snow the past couple weeks! It's been fun to see and fun to play in.
And we've had LOTS of hot chocolate and soup too.
I made this just days before the snow hit, laughing as I put it up because even though it was cold (getting down to 10 degrees), it was not snowy at all.
And then this hit Friday, Jan 25th.
It was fun but then it melted and we had some pretty warm days, hitting the mid 60's.
And then it got cold again! School was canceled Friday, Feb 4th. There was more this time, so we rushed to get sleds and discounted snow pants. (We already had the boots from the October snow.)
The kids loved jumping on a snowy trampoline and painting the snow with colored water.
On Saturday, Billy took the kids to a park by a golf course and they had a blast "sleigh ridin'."
(That's what everyone said as we bought the sleds. "Oh! Are you kids gonna go sleigh ridin' today?!" The kids looked a little confused when they heard that. I mean, come on. Santa rides in a sleigh. This big plastic frisbee is NOT the same thing...)
Look at those rosy cheeks. And those glasses. Kind of like Ralphy...
Monday the kids had a 2 hour delayed arrival at school. The snow was starting to melt, so we went out to play one more time after they got home for the day.
It is hard to get 4 kids to look and smile in the same direction.
We decided to make the biggest snowballs ever! (We just read a story about the biggest balls of string ever.) I made the one on the right. Jacob made the one on the left. It really wore him out.
What a change from our past winters...
