It's Great to Be 8!

I had promised Emily she could have a birthday party and we finally got it done! :) (We had a family one on her actual birthday, but Billy only got 1 picture... There is a pretty funny video clip though. :)

For her friend party, she wanted a flower theme:

The girls (and Jacob and Matthew) painted flower pots.

We had a watering can relay.

(It was fun to watch Matthew who is finally old enough to really understand and participate in these games.)

The kids collected flowers to make bouquets in their watering cans.

We decorated visors so we can garden outside and protect our faces.

(I tried to get a picture of these two with their visors. Don't they look related?)

The kids planted flower seeds in their beautifully painted flower pots.
(Cross your fingers! I hope they grow!)

Megan had to be held by either Billy or myself the ENTIRE time. (So unlike her.) Finally, in the last ten minutes of the party, she relaxed and let a friend's mom hold her. But until then, she'd cry if we ever tried to put her down. Too many new people and things happening...

(Yeah Megan, sitting with Daddy makes me happy too.)

Emily making a wish on the flower cupcakes she wanted.

Happy Birthday sweet Emily! You are one of the most loving people we know. You are growing into such a beautiful girl. We love you.

Here's the clip from her family party. She requested a turtle cake (chocolate, caramel and pecans) for this party. :)

(FYI: Earlier that day she sneezed on the head of a girl sitting right in front of us during sacrament meeting. A huge sneeze. Oh I felt so badly when the parents both turned around to look...but it was so funny too. Billy, my parents and I were just trying to keep it together and not fall apart laughing.)
