Family Day

Saturday was declared Family Day! We started the day by heading to the beach. It was gorgeous! The water was a warm, not a cloud in the sky, a bit of wind and not too many people around. We had a blast! We splashed, played "ring around the rosie" in the water, worked on a sand castle, ate lunch, buried our feet (multiple times) in the sand, buried our legs in the sand, chased the birds and had a really great time. The kids were in heaven, and we even managed to get Matthew a nap while we were there, so it was a very successful trip. (And the hat that was too big for Matthew two months ago now fits perfectly!)

Afterward we cleaned up and had a little bit of quiet time at home. Then we let the kids play a little Wii Mario Cart (fun game!) before we headed out for a family dinner (thanks to a gift card from a friend). The kids were super excited and we all enjoyed our food. We shared a dessert in the end and Billy and I were cracking up watching our kids trying to get as many bites as they could, as fast as possible. We decided that must be how piranhas look when they're eating something.

When we finally got the kids in bed, everyone was tired and sunburned (except the baby), but both Emily and Jacob said that it was a really fun day, so the burn was worth it! (Thank goodness for ibuprofen and aloe vera!)
